The House Legislative Administration Committee has scheduled a hearing on a Right-to-Know bill on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. The hearing for HB1593 on prohibiting agencies from charging for labor to access records is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. The hearing will be in room 307 of the Legislative Office Building (LOB) which is directly behind the State House in Concord, NH.
RTKNH supports this bill with amendment. RTKNH would amend this bill by inserting the word “redacting” so the new language reads:
which shall not include any amount of the cost of searching, compilation, redacting and labor of the public body or agency in making the copy
The public is invited to attend this hearing and RTKNH encourages those who support this bill to come to the hearing to show your support. Directions from around the state are available here.
If you can’t attend the hearing but still want to express your support, please write to the House Legislative Administration Committee or a member of the committee, particularly if they are your representative. Contact information including all the members of the committee is available here. The committee has a group email address of HouseLegislativeAdministration@leg.state.nh.us.
