HB285 was passed by the full Senate with an amendment. This bill allows non-meetings to consider verbal or written legal advice. The amendment was approved by a voice vote and then the amended bill was approved as ought to pass by a voice vote on the regular calendar. The Senate vote adopted the OTP report by the Senate Judiciary Committee. The committee voted 5-0. The report was presented by Sen. Sharon Carson:
This legislation is amended to be consistent with a recent NH Supreme Court decision dealing with public meetings and communication with legal counsel.
Since the Senate amended the bill that passed the House, HB285 now goes back to the House where it could be passed as amended or perhaps assigned to a conference committee.
