HB613 was voted ought to pass with amendment 14-3 by the House Judiciary Committee this week. This bill adds a new exemption for names and addresses in certain license applications. The committee amendment clarifies the new exemption only applies to individuals and defines license. Here is the full amended exemption:
IV-a. Except as otherwise provided by law, the names and addresses of individuals contained in license applications, other than professional license applications. For the purposes of this paragraph, “license” means “license” as defined in RSA 541-A:1, VIII.
The report on the bill from the committee was written by Rep. Timothy O. Horrigan:
This bill as amended protects the confidentiality of fish and game licenses, and similar licenses. The names and addresses of license-holders would no longer be available when right-to-know requests are made. Professional license-holders’ names would still be available.
This bill now goes to the full House for a vote.
