House Bill 606 to extend the Right-to-Know Law so no fees may be charged to access records filed electronically has been introduced in the N.H. House and assigned to the House Judiciary Committee. This bill is sponsored by Rep. David Bickford (R).
This bill adds a new sentence to section RSA 91-A:4, IV. This new sentence clarifies that a citizen may not be charged to access a record that was filed electronically. Here is the new sentence:
A public body or agency shall not charge for governmental records filed electronically; provided that a fee may be charged for the actual costs of sending such information electronically.
