The Senate approved SB44 by a voice vote this week. This bill allows non-public meetings on security for state correctional facilities. It was previously approved 5-0 by the Senate Executive Departments and Administration Committee with a recommendation that the bill ought to pass. Here is the committee report by Sen. John Reagan:
This bill clarifies a technical change in RSA 91–A:3 governing non-public sessions. This change in law will allow the state department of corrections to respond appropriately as the counties presently do when it relates to the safety of inmates and staff.
