SB44 Introduced

Senate Bill 44 to extend one Right-to-Know Law exemption for non-public sessions to include security for state prisons has been introduced in the N.H. Senate and assigned to the Senate Executive Departments and Administration Committee. This bill is sponsored by Sen. Lou D’Allesandro (D), Sen. Donna Soucy (D), Sen. Sharon Carson (R), Sen. Sam Cataldo (R), Rep. David Welch (R), and Rep. Laura Pantelakos (D).

This bill adds 2 phrases to RSA 91-A:3 II(g). The first phrase adds “or state” and the second phrase adds “or the commissioner of the department of corrections.” Here is the full revised exemption:

(g) Consideration of security-related issues bearing on the immediate safety of security personnel or inmates at the county or state correctional facilities by county correctional superintendents or the commissioner of the department of corrections, or their designees.
